The only way to keep your windows nice and clean is to give them enough attention regularly, every month or two. The way to do this in an environmentally-friendly way however happens to be a different story altogether. The tips ahead will give you a few ideas you can use to make it happen in such a way:
• You should focus on washing your windows with good vertical strokes. This will help keep streaking to a minimum, especially if you use a good squeegee to make it happen.
• You will need to get a really good squeegee with a long handle, as this will allow you greater flexibility when you work as well as letting you deal with larger windows and their area.
• Removing scratches from the glass can be made by using toothpaste. It is a simple solution and we all use toothpaste in one form or another, so chances are you can do this with ease.
• Something else you should keep in mind is that you would do well to work on your windows on overcast days, as they will not streak as much as they would otherwise. They will dry more slowly and this will allow them to do so without allowing streaking.
• The corners of the windows can be cleaned with a simple toothbrush, as it will allow you to reach locations you may not reach otherwise.
• If you want to make the windows shine, you will need to buff them with a simple cotton rag. You can also use a newspaper, but that would be inadvisable as it is still something that will damage the environment once thrown away, since it contains chemicals in the ink that will wash into the local soil, unless you find ways to recycle it.
• When you do clean windows with wooden frames, you will need to make sure you do so carefully, as they will soak water in if their paint has worn off. This could cause some damage, so make sure you take great care.
• You will need to use the squeegee in the way it was intended to, as it will be the only tool you can use for quick and efficient cleaning without requiring way too much to deal with. There is literally little difference between the squeegees used by professionals and what you can buy at the store, so get one as soon as possible if you don’t have one. You may need to replace it from time to time or to get some new blades, especially if the rubber gets damaged or worn out. You will need it to be as effective as possible at all times, so think ahead.
